 handy tips for quick reference

Which ridge can I climb for an unobstructed view of Mt. Everest? Is Messa Arch best photographed at sunrise or sunset? How can I frame London’s Parliament House from above? Specific field information is vital when planning a photography shoot, we hope to provide all the tips you’ll need!

Surf our Interactive Map or Search our data base. Discovered something you like? Great! With one click of a tab you can save your favorites into a personalized Planner. Now you can quickly access this information on your smartphone when out in the field. If you’re not traveling with a mobile device, no problem, simply Print Tips prior to your adventure!

We need your help!

Would you like to help others improve their photography / videography? You can submit text, photos and videos to Create Tips for others to use and enjoy. You don’t need to be a brilliant photographer to provide useful information. Your blurry, overexposed photo that locates an obscure viewing platform will more useful to our members than an award winning panorama taken from the same location.

The core idea of this site is for public members to share information on their favourite photography locations.  We’d love you to sign-up and contribute!

We’re just coming off the starting block, so admittedly we have a sparse database of tips at present.  But with your help, hopefully we can grow this site into a comprehensive guide. The site is not perfect. In fact, I’ll be honest and say we’re still working though a few technical glitches, and we are yet to even build-in some of the features we’d like to host–such as forums and messaging between members. But if you’ve ever owned a new pony, you know at some point you’ve just got to throw on the saddle and work it out from there!

Our Blogs

We hope you enjoy them!  Our aim is keep a steady stream of informative, entertaining blogs flowing. We’ll mix it up with hardware and softwares reviews, photography techniques, trip reports, general advice and tutorials.  If you’re seeking information on any photography-travel topic, let us know and we’ll blog it! Alternatively, if you’re keen to contribute a quality blog, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

 Keeping it Polished

Our goal is to maintain a user-friendly date base of photography and videography location tips. We aim to keep our interactive map free of unhelpful clutter. We own a resident Admin Monkey, he approves all tips prior to publication. Site members can continue to edit and add to their tips after initial publication approval,  so to prevent any rotten bananas from slipping though, other logged-in members may draw our Monkeys attention to inappropriate tips. Don’t worry if you accidentally click the ‘Report Tip’ tab by mistake–you’ll be given an opportunity to cancel.  Once reported, our Admin Monkey will review a suspect tip and decide if it should remain in our data base.  When signing-up, new members must agree to our Terms and Conditions and abide by them thereafter. It’s all just common sense stuff intended to keep PhotoPlanner.tips a courteous, user-friendly site.

Why can’t I find this site on Google?

We are currently running photoplanner.tips in a ‘hidden’ mode, meaning our tips and blogs are invisible to online search engines such as google.  We are still in the process of creating this site and want to iron out technical issues prior to going live.
Meanwhile, we encourage you to start contributing tips! The more material we can upload prior to public launch the better.

Thanks for visiting!

Ultimately it will be our members who enable this site to evolve, so if you do decide to sign-up and contribute, we’d be delighted. Otherwise, hopefully you’ll find inspiration and handy advice within our pages. Happy shooting!

If you’re experiencing technical problems we’d be happy to hear from you–actually, we won’t be that pleased if you’re having difficulties, but we’ll jump onto it!
Feedback and suggestions are welcome. This site is a labour of love rather than a commercial venture, so our day-jobs might prevent us from getting back to you right away, but we’ll do our very best.
